February 29 (UPI) — Microsoft announced Thursday that it is releasing a financial version of its Copilot AI chatbot to power its Microsoft 365 program.
“Microsoft is introducing solutions to help finance teams make better use of their time and stay on top of important decisions that can impact business results,” Microsoft said in a Thursday press release. .
The new Copilot system integrates with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Outlook.
The company says the system helps “automate costly and time-consuming operational tasks.”
“Microsoft Copilot for Finance is a new Copilot experience in Microsoft 365 that unlocks AI-assisted competencies from within the productivity applications that financial professionals use every day,” Microsoft said.
The company says Copilot can suggest edits, pull data from across the financial system, and detect discrepancies.
“Copilot for Finance can streamline audits by capturing and reconciling data in a single prompt,” Microsoft said.
The Copilot AI system is already integrated into Microsoft’s Edge search engine.
Microsoft says the Copilot for Finance feature is currently available in public preview.
