Microsoft has removed the Microsoft Edge 122.0.2365.63 update after users reported experiencing “out of memory” errors when browsing the web or accessing browser settings.
Microsoft released Edge 122.0.2365.63 yesterday, but soon after, users on multiple sites began reporting that their browser repeatedly crashed with memory errors.
BleepingComputer was first alerted to the issue yesterday by one of its readers, who said the issue affected Windows 10 and Windows 11 users.
Since then, this bug has been widely reported, causing errors such as “There is a problem with this page” or “There is not enough memory to open this page” while browsing the web, and “Out of memory” errors. An error code will be displayed.
“I updated to 122.0.2365.63 (official build) (64 bit) and suddenly there is nothing It takes a load. He gets two errors: “There is a problem with this page” and “There is not enough memory to open this page.” Any A page with a new tab page and settings. Anyone else having the same problem?” he posted on Reddit.
It was later determined that the issue was caused by the user setting Enhanced Web Protection to “Strict” protection. This feature can be managed in the following ways: setting > Privacy, search and services and scroll down to “Increase security on the web‘Under security.
Lowering the settings to Basic or completely disabling the Improve web security feature will fix the bug and allow users to browse the web normally.
However, some affected users will instead see an out of memory error, so[設定]Some people may not be able to visit the page and turn off this feature.
Since then, Microsoft has removed the Edge 122.0.2365.63 update and the latest version is now 122.0.2365.59.
This release is not the first time this bug has occurred, with Microsoft Edge Canary users reporting the issue in recent builds. Microsoft finally fixed the bug in Canary 124.0.2434.0 released yesterday, but it appears they forgot to prevent the bug from entering the Stable channel.
