Along the way, it lightly explores the inner workings of Sumireko’s mind and her deepest fears. However, this series is great at setting up sequences that are hilarious, rather than anything super serious or creepy.It feels almost classic. Of course, there is a mystery in this episode, and perhaps in future episodes as well. But they take a backseat to the actual characters. All in all, this episode does a lot of good by focusing on the character Sumireko and her backstory. Probably not as much going on in later episodes. I think that also affects the pace and atmosphere.
Thankfully, there are some great hints at what the future holds. The promise of what was to come next sank into me deeply. First, there is an interesting situation with Adashino, the other main character. He looks much younger, probably around middle school, but his behavior is strange. Needless to say, his spiral yellow eyes aren’t just for show.
