Netflix sneak peek hundred years of solitude Released. The highly anticipated series adaptation of Gabriel García Márquez’s novel is set to arrive later this year.
This multi-generational story follows the Buendia family as they tell the story of the founding of the mythical town of Macondo.
The Spanish-language series was filmed in Colombia with support from Marquez’s family. Marquez’s novels were widely acclaimed, selling over 50 million copies and being translated into 40 languages. Netflix released a brief teaser in time for its 40th anniversary in 2022th On the anniversary of Marquez’s Nobel Prize in Literature, a new teaser reveals even more.
In the new video, Aureliano Babilonia reads the mythical diary of Melquiades and then takes viewers to Macondo, where he witnesses Colonel Aureliano Buendia standing before a firing squad, and at the same time his father takes him to discover ice. The scene shows him reminiscing about the afternoon he went there.
In 2019, it was revealed that Netflix had acquired the rights to make an animated version of the book, which had not previously been made into a movie. The series was written by Jose Rivera, Natalia Santa, Camila Bruges, Maria Camila Arias, and Albatross Gonzalez. Netflix said the series is “one of Latin America’s most ambitious projects to date, brought to life by Colombia and Latin America’s most talented artists.”
The 16-episode project is co-directed by Alex Garcia López and Laura Mora and produced by Colombian production company Dinamo.
The teaser includes Claudio Cataño (Colonel Aureliano Buendía), Geronimo Baron (Young Aureliano Buendía), Marco Gonzalez (José Arcadio Buendía), Leonardo Soto (José Arcadio’s son), Susana Morales (José Arcadio’s son), Many of the cast, including Ursula Iguaran) and Ella, appear. Becerra (Petronilla), Carlos Suárez (Aureliano Iguaran), Moreno Borja (Melquiades), Santiago Vázquez (teenage Aureliano Buendía).
