Google Pixel 9 is expected to arrive around October, and new leaked photos have arrived showing off the flagship device from all angles. At the same time, we also obtained the predicted price of Google Pixel 8a.
First, a photo from Russian site Rozetked (via Android Police) – you can see how the rear camera bar has become a rear camera island. The corners are more rounded and the sides are flatter compared to what we saw on the Google Pixel 8.
As always with leaks, be careful when assessing the authenticity of these images, but the device on display here matches unofficial renderings previously published on the web.
The tweaked look may not be to everyone’s taste, but it’s still recognizable as a Pixel smartphone thanks to the wide camera island. The bottom of the device also has a USB-C port, the usual power and volume buttons, and a SIM tray slot.
More expensive mid-range device
Next up is the Pixel 8a price leak, which comes via PassionateGeekz (and Notebookcheck). This is not a commonly heard source in the past, so please take this as an unconfirmed rumor for now.
Apparently, the 128GB version of the Pixel 8a is priced at $708.99 and the 256GB version at $792.99 at Canadian retailers. This confirms previous rumors that mid-range devices will see price increases this year. .
Of course, Google doesn’t use standard currency conversion for global pricing, but for reference, the cheaper version costs $515 / £415 / AU$805 and the more expensive version costs $575 / £465 / AU$900 .
The Google Pixel 7a was originally sold for $499 / £449 / AU$749, and in Canada for CAD599, so a pretty big price increase could be coming soon. Pixel 8a will most likely be announced at the Google I/O 2024 event on May 14th.
