The weekend is here and a new month begins. I quit in February. He won't see another 29-day event like this for another four years. March brings dreams of spring, but there may still be some winter weather in the coming weeks. The wind is getting stronger day by day, so you can tell that spring is coming. The wind is good for kite flying and sailing, but not so good for anything else.
Relax on the sofa indoors to avoid the wind. Read all the new and regular TV shows, movies, and more streaming this weekend on Netflix, Max, Hulu, and 5 billion other streaming services competing for your hard-earned money .I noticed that there are also new episodes days of our life Peacock season 59. Season 59! I didn't even know soap operas were still going on. Imagine coming up with a show that's been going on for decades and still has an audience.
Anyway, move on!
Shogun (FX/Hulu)
Based on the novel by James Clavell, general is a new series depicting feudal Japan and its complex politics. The great powers of Europe are in decline, wishing to enrich themselves and sabotage each other. The chaos, intrigue, and brutal violence all combine to make it one of the best new shows I've seen in a long time. You can read my review of the series premiere here. I haven't read the book, so I know they made some big changes that may upset some readers, but as a newbie, I really like this book so far. I will review it every week. New episodes air every Tuesday on Hulu.
The Regime (HBO / Max)
I've been eyeing this for quite some time. The last time Kate Winslet appeared on an HBO show was East Town Mare, One of the best mystery series I've seen in years. System It's a different colored horse. It's basically the story of the fall of a fictional European authoritarian regime. A dystopian dark comedy/drama. So far, reviews have been mostly positive. I didn't ask for a screener because I thought I might end up on HBO's naughty list after my pretty harsh criticism of a pretty bad production. true detective night land. I hope this gets better! We'll find out on Sunday!
Esurbeth (Paramount+)
i haven't seen good wife or Good fight, But the title character appears there elsbeth I came from Carrie Preston plays the rather eccentric lawyer Elsbeth Tascioni.
The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin (Apple TV+)
I've never seen it either great british baking show Despite his popularity, he co-starred with Noel Fielding. I think my kids do. I'm not so sure. I might check it out once in a while. The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin But it looks like a lot of fun. Fielding plays Turpin, a highwayman based on a real historical figure from the 18th century. This is by no means historical fiction. Think along the lines of Hulu. great—Lots of vulgar, historically inaccurate, and contemporary humor. It might be fun!
The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live (AMC)
first episode of The Walking Dead: The Living It aired last weekend and we got to see what Rick has been up to over the past few years. Most of the time it involved making wrong choices and doing a lot of voice over to us. I wasn't impressed. We hope this week's episode will be more exciting. Michonne can be a pretty intense character, and this time around the character seems to be more focused on her adventures. That means the two will probably have to wait a little while to actually get together.
Update: Episode 2 was really good!
House of Ninja (Netflix)
A family of secret ninjas, now retired, are called back to save Japan from a nefarious threat. This came out a few weeks ago, but it never caught my eye. Looks really cool! Ninjas are even cooler than spies, so I'm all for this.
Napoleon (Apple TV+)
It didn't get the great reviews I was hoping for, and it was really long, so I didn't feel like going. napoleon Since it was released in theaters, I decided to wait until it was released on Apple TV+. The day has finally arrived. You can now watch Joaquin Phoenix play one of history's great conquerors, and apparently it's done more for laughs than anything else. But Ridley Scott continues to impress with the scope and spectacle of his blockbusters, so this should be a fun one to watch at the end.
Dune Part 2 (now in theaters)
It has received rave reviews from critics and fans alike. I thought it was so amazing and gorgeous, but also somehow empty and emotionally empty. You can read my review here. I definitely think it's worth seeing in theaters, and the costume design and cinematography are amazing. What holds it back from being great is the story (and runtime). Still, in terms of film adaptations of very challenging novels, this is a pretty good one.
