what’s new
Rebel Moon Part 2: Scargiver (April 19 on Netflix)
I had mixed feelings about Zack Snyder. Rebel Moon Part 1: Child of Fire, But the main reason was that I went in with very low expectations and then realized that while it ended up not being as bad as I expected, it still wasn’t great. Let’s see if Part 2 “The Scargiver” can bring fans a satisfying ending. If you like quirky space operas and aren’t too into super derivative stories, this might be a fun weekend viewing.
P.S.: Now that you’ve seen the movie, you can read my review here. I wasn’t a fan.
Under the Bridge (April 17 on Hulu)
Lately, I’ve been really into mysteries, under the bridge It seems to scratch the itch well. Based on Rebecca Godfrey’s book about the true story of 14-year-old Leena Virk (Vritika Gupta), who went missing in British Columbia after attending a party with friends in 1997, Godfrey (Riley) Keogh) and a local police officer (Lily Gladstone). They delve into the lives of the teenage girls accused of Virk’s murder.

Migration (Peacock April 19)
Here you’ll find products for the whole family from manufacturers of. despicable me and minions It’s all about the migration of ducks and other birds, and I think it’s a perfect fit for a streaming service called Peacock. The film was released in theaters last December to decent reviews from critics (72% on Rotten Tomatoes) and positive reviews from audiences (88%).
Black Sails Seasons 1-4 (Netflix, April 17)
I wrote about why you should stream Starz’s historical pirate drama black sail Even though it’s already available on Netflix now, I thought I’d include it in this guide as well. This is a great show (it gets better with each episode), especially if you enjoy adventurous adventures and lots of gritty plots and skull-making.
Late Night With The Devil (April 19th, Shudder)
I’ve been wanting to see it ever since I first saw the super creepy trailer, but I haven’t been able to go to the movies much lately. Fortunately, Late nights spent with the devil It’s landing on Shudder this Friday, so I’m going to sign up for a 7-day free trial and watch it.after that try it Remember to cancel before you are charged. This movie looks so weird! Edit: I have AMC+ and just realized it includes Shudder.
In the Land of Saints and Sinners (April 16th VOD)
A gritty Irish crime thriller set in the 1970s starring Liam Neeson. It looks better than anything Neeson has made in a long time. This can still be seen in theaters, but now also on video-on-demand.

Dune Part 2 (April 16th VOD)
i had mixed feelings dune 2, Visually and sonically it’s great, but I thought it was a little thin in terms of plot and characters. Still, if you missed this in theaters (here’s where you really should see it), he’s available to stream on VOD with his upcoming HBO/Max release.

what is going on
I would like to include things from Amazon as well. fall out This series is in the “Ongoing” section of my guide, but they decided to release all the episodes at once, so it’s like almost every Netflix show that only appears in one guide and then disappears forever. It’s progressing like this. However, you can watch that show and some of Netflix’s One and Done in last week’s guide. Also, since this guide is already quite long, I won’t include any trailers and will just speed through the ongoing sections a bit.
Sugar (Apple TV)
Colin Farrell plays a private detective in this stylish noir mystery drama set in Tokyo and LA about the mysterious disappearance of a Hollywood producer’s granddaughter. I’ve enjoyed what I’ve seen so far. Episodes air every Friday on Apple TV+.
Shogun (Hulu)
Definitely one of my favorite shows of the year, general Transport us to feudal Japan during a time of turmoil, as Protestants and Catholics vie for control of trade routes and Japan’s political factions prepare for war. New episodes air every Tuesday on Hulu.

- Star Trek: Discoveries The fifth season airs every Thursday on Paramount+. This actually reminded me that I never watched season 4. I have mixed feelings about this show. The first three seasons had some great moments, but they also had a lot of frustrating moments.lagging behind in everything Star Trek, I’ll tell you the truth.
- parish He co-starred with Giancarlo Esposito on AMC. I tried the first episode of this production, but it got a little boring, so I decided to watch something else. I haven’t returned to this show yet, and I don’t know if I ever will. But Esposito is great gentlemen On Netflix, which I really love. What a fun show!
- gentleman from moscow Ewan McGregor and Mary Elizabeth Winstead star in this Paramount+ film about a Russian aristocrat placed under house arrest after the Soviet Revolution. This sounds good. I need to write something about it. New episodes will be released on Sundays.
- X-Men 97 Disney+ brings back the classic, vintage feel of the old X-Men series. It airs every Wednesday and is really fun.
- mary and george At Stars. A sexually charged historical drama set during the reign of King James I, full of political intrigue, deceit, and black humor, loosely based on real events. Julianne Moore is the star here. New episodes air every Friday.
at the theater
This may be a streaming guide, but I always try to post a theatrical release or two, too, because going to the theater is great.
Ministry of Ungentlemanly War (April 19)
Guy Ritchie did a great job gentlemen I can’t wait to go see it on Netflix (which you should!). ungentlemanly war ministry At the theater. The film depicts a group of colorful special forces who thoroughly defeat the Nazis during World War II. Commissioned by Winston Churchill in 1940, the Special Operations Executive, headed by Gus March Phillips (Henry Cavill), set out to disrupt German operations in a kind of forerunner of modern covert operations tactics. . Looks like fun to me!
Abigail (April 19th)
The kidnapping of a young ballerina goes horribly wrong when she turns out to be a vampire and the daughter of another even more famous vampire. Soon the hunter becomes the hunted. It looks like a pretty interesting horror movie, and the reviews so far have been mostly positive.
Blood For Dust (in theaters and VOD April 19th)
This bare-bones indie crime thriller was very good. You can read my review here. Scoot McNairy in particular did a great job as a down-on-his-luck salesman drawn into the criminal underworld where things take a horrifying turn. It’s fun to watch too game of thrones Alum Kit Harington plays the villain with a handlebar mustache.
That’s all for now, everyone. If you have any recommendations for me, please let me know!
