According to reports tech radar, Nvidia is keeping an eye on every new portable gaming device released to the market. Even more notable is the fact that these devices do not include his Nvidia-based hardware. Many of the most popular Steam Deck alternatives use AMD chips, and Nvidia has less involvement in the market. So what better way to enter it than by creating the device yourself?
It makes a lot of sense for Nvidia to enter the portable gaming PC market. After all, they have some experience with his Nvidia Shield, a console that lets you play GeForce Now games without the need for a full-fledged PC. If Nvidia joins the Steam Deck race, it could potentially create a system that supports both platforms like Steam and GeForce Now. This gives gamers the choice of downloading games to play on the go or using the cloud to save space on their device’s hard drive.
Still, it’s easy to get carried away before confirming that Nvidia is manufacturing the device. There’s a very real possibility that the company will instead focus on selling hardware to manufacturers so they can make their own devices.
