Durst was convicted in 2021, and killed his wife Kathleen McCormack (who disappeared in 1982 and had long been suspected of Durst’s murder) and close friend Susan Berman (who was executed in 2000). He was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of a man (who was murdered). ). He was acquitted in the 2001 death of his neighbor Morris Black. He died in prison in 2022 at the age of 78.
According to Max, “The filmmakers will continue their investigation for the next eight years, uncovering hidden material, Durst’s prison phone calls, and interviews with previously unknown witnesses.”
