I’m obsessed with collecting PlayStation trophies. As of this writing, I currently have 3,899 Sony in-game achievements. My collection would have grown even more if I hadn’t thrown away my old PSN profile, but I couldn’t bear to be saddled with the nickname “geared4foxhound” when the PS4 launched. In my defense, that awful name came about because I was incredibly excited about Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots on his PS3 at the time.
As someone who does most of my gaming on a powerful desktop, this news is PlayStation Trophies are coming to PC That’s a big thing for me. Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut It will be the first game to receive the trophy treatment via the new PlayStation overlay.
This hub system will be rolled out when Samurai Hack and Slasher Sandbox launches on May 16th, and you’ll be able to view your PS5 friends list, trophies, settings, and overall PSN profile. Sony also confirmed that trophies will carry over between platforms. This means that any virtual pots you win on your PlayStation account will pop up on your PC.
by playstation blog, you can access the overlay by pressing “Shift + F1”. As a gamepad enthusiast, I really wish there was a way to access this new menu system. dual sense edge When you connect your PS5 controller to either best gaming pc.
overlay and out
I have some interest in earning achievements while playing the best Steam games, but trophies are always in my bag. One reason for this is that nothing can match the effort and dedication that comes with unlocking the Platinum His Trophy. The Platinum Trophy is the ultimate achievement for PlayStation gamers, with an ear-splitting sound effect that rings out when you collect all the trophies in the game.
I’m old enough to remember unlocking my first trophy in the online dogfighting title Warhawk in 2007. Trophies first appeared in Super Stardust HD earlier that year as Sony’s response to Xbox Achievements, which debuted on the Xbox 360.
Over the years, I’ve been trying really hard to unlock the platinum trophy.
Over the years since, I’ve worked really hard to unlock the Platinum Trophy. My current record is 34, and I’ve played more Resident Evil games than I can count. I love Capcom’s legendary survival horror series and have unlocked Platinum in Resident Evil Remastered, Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil Village, and the remakes Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4 . The latter requires six separate playthroughs to unlock. Top trophy. Sorry, but I promise not to type “resident” again in the rest of this article.
My rambling zombie-related anecdotes aside, I believe that the PlayStation overlays and trophies that come with the PC port are a big problem. To me, this is further evidence of Sony’s commitment to the platform, which has continued to grow steadily since releasing the first ever formerly exclusive PlayStation game on PC in 2020. n Zero Dawn.”
hold down port
The quality of Sony’s PC ports has been inconsistent over the past few years, but the general trend has been towards more and more mature output. The recent PC release of Horizon Forbidden West is excellent, with advanced features such as frame generation and support for Nvidia DLSS image upscaling.
The Last of Us Part 1 launched in a disgraceful state last year, but thanks to a series of post-launch patches it’s now a strong port. God of War, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection all perform very well on my console. This strengthens my belief that Sony is trying to court players outside of the PS5 ecosystem more than ever before.
I’d love to see the PlayStation overlay inserted into the titles I just mentioned, but it’s unclear whether Sony intends to retroactively put this new system on these older ports. However, there is no doubt that his PS5 games coming to PC in the future will be given trophies. If so, you better believe that at some point in the future he’ll unlock his pot of platinum for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 for the second time when Insomniac’s sensational sequel hits Steam.
When it comes to PC, you better believe I’m unlocking a second platinum pot in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
Of course, console-style rewards coming to PC games isn’t a new concept. Since the Xbox app was released on Windows, you’ve been able to unlock achievements for Xbox Game Pass titles. Sony may be late to the party in this regard, but that doesn’t dampen my excitement for the Trophy’s arrival on PC.
As the guy who literally used the rubber band on the left stick of his DualShock 4 to make Naked Snake walk softly and then slide down a large rock (this is quite a long story) to unlock Platinum. I continued my quest for 10 straight hours. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, I’m unusually excited at the thought of the trophy appearing on his PC.
