There are a lot of series with very little certainty, but the season preview shows that Spring 2024 is very crowded around the middle of the pack. bubble area.i won’t say The Fable That’s what got me ticketed for it, but it was far from the same lock. The premiere more or less set the stage for that – it was pretty good without leaving too much of an impression. However, the dining experience did not begin once the story arrived in Osaka, and was also played out as strictly setting the table.
Like most of the season’s shows in this tier; The Fables The second episode was a step up from the first. This premise has obvious potential, but for me it’s more of a possibility than a reality at this point. I really enjoy the Osaka Yakuza boys, especially Ebihara. As always, Akio Otsuka is a delight to the ears. He already plays an important role here, as he is not as optimistic as his boss about letting the Satou brothers camp out on his territory. The first meeting was very interesting to watch unfold, with Ebihara asking Fable how he would kill them both on the spot if he had to.
Fable is a deeply sociopathic man, there’s no doubt about that. I don’t envy Yoko having to be his caretaker, especially when he’s under strict orders not to make a fuss (and not kill people). The gang lets the “brothers” live in two houses that were previously used as hideouts, where Ebihara keeps his precious Hakosuka – one of the most iconic cars in Japanese history. The Nissan Skyline GT-R is one (and worth a ton of money right now). He tests Fable’s gun skills by seeing if he can shoot through a surveillance camera within two seconds. Fable does so, eliminating the less obvious targets and showering Hakosuka with debris in the process.
Between that and the comment about nose hair, Fable has already seriously pissed off Ebihara. Fable quickly locates and disables all surveillance equipment in the house (fortunately Youko is unaware of her surveillance equipment). However, Ebihara leaves himself behind to watch over the Sato brothers. When the boy learns that Ebihara intends to drive them out of Osaka, he takes the initiative to create a commotion. He scouts a kickboxing champion, a friend of his, to confront Fable when he leaves the bar where Fable and Yoko were drinking.
The way Fable handles this is, without a doubt, surprisingly restrained. He quickly takes stock of both opponents and begins adjusting their performance to convince them that he has kicked his ass. This kickboxer is so sharp that you wonder if he’s been played, but he probably wouldn’t want to take a serious match with someone who can make plays like that. However, this is just the opening salvo if, in fact, this is going to be an ongoing campaign to drive Fable out of town.
It’s also worth noting that Fable spotted Fable from the roof of his apartment, stumbling as he ran up the stairs to his apartment. After the “battle” she reappears, holds out her handkerchief, and runs off again. Yoko said she was looking for romance this holiday, but it looks like she found Fable first. So far he hasn’t shown any obvious interest in women, but I don’t think he is aware of such things unless there is evidence to the contrary.
