Los Angeles County deputies arrested a security guard for allegedly assaulting a hairdresser outside. west hollywood nightclubs.
The attack occurred nearly two weeks ago as hairstylist Albert Vasquez, 53, was walking back and forth between Gym Bar and Heart WeHo on Santa Monica Boulevard.
“We know he was at a bar with certain friends and he walked from that bar to another bar because they were next to each other,” said sister Gloria.・Mr. Jimenez said.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said they received a report of a person in need of medical attention around 11 p.m. on April 5, but Vasquez was not found. Jimenez said his brother was taken to the hospital by paramedics. Investigators learned of the attack four days after Vazquez woke up after surgery, investigators said.
Law enforcement officials arrested the bouncer on Wednesday but did not say whether he worked at the nightclub. He was arrested for assault causing serious bodily injury.
“His skull was fractured in two places,” Jimenez said. “They removed part of his scalp so they could enlarge his brain because his brain was inflamed.”
It’s unclear whether Vasquez suffered any permanent damage from the beating. But his family expects he will need therapy in the future to learn how to walk and talk.
