In November 2023, HBO Director Casey Bloys addressed the shift in strategy to license HBO content to Netflix, calling it a “balance.”
“We have to protect the programs that are successful,” he said. “But, you know, I’ve worked in television long enough that syndication used to be a pot of gold.
