ITV and UK-based natural history producer Plimsoll Productions. (Super/Natural, A Bug’s Life)), the ITV Studios company has partnered. shark!Waters where famous people appeara reality series not for the faint of heart celebrities.
The entertainment and wildlife crossover format sees sea-phobic celebrities face off against their biggest fear: sharks. According to the official synopsis, “An adrenaline-pumping and challenging journey through the Bahamas, the shark capital of the world, pushes these elite athletes to their limits and takes them face-to-face with nature’s ‘villains.’ . “Their first-hand experience will bring immense excitement and new perspectives. They will realize that a world without this notoriously frightening creature would be downright terrifying, and they will recognize the importance of sharks in the food chain and our ecosystem. You will become aware of your valuable position.”
The series is scheduled to air next year to coincide with the Oscar-winning film’s 50th anniversary Jaws. Celebrity casting is currently underway, and director Plimsoll is actively promoting the film adaptation in the United States.
The celebrities are tasked with diving with different species of sharks, which grow larger and more dangerous with each round. The island of Bimini in the Bahamas, where the show is filmed, is home to about seven to 10 species of sharks, including hammerheads, bull sharks, and tiger sharks.
Celebrities will also face “fear-inducing challenges” while learning first-hand the vital role sharks play in our oceans.

The series is commissioned by Rawcliffe and Entertainment ITV commissioning editor Kevin O’Brien. Produced by Plimsoll Productions. Karen Plumb, James Smith, Andrea Jackson, Alan Ayers and Grant Mansfield will serve as executive producers. International distribution will be handled by ITV Studios.
