Sydney Sweeney is Hollywood’s current “it” girl, but one of Hollywood’s most influential producers, Carol Baum, is no fan.
Baum, the producer of the box-office hits Father of the Bride and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, knows a thing or two about filmmaking and had no reservations about casting Sweeney in the role. is categorically rejected. Baum recently spoke with New York Times film critic Janet Maslin in front of an audience at a screening of the 1988 film “Dead Ringers,” and seized the opportunity to criticize Sweeney, the newspaper reported.
“She’s not beautiful. She can’t act,” Baum reportedly told Maslin before continuing to criticize Starr.

Bohm brought to bear Sweeney’s best skills for the job.
According to the Daily Mail, she told Maslin: “Now we have an actress that everyone loves, Sydney Sweeney.”
“I don’t understand Sidney Sweeney. I wanted to see a Sidney Sweeney movie, so I watched it on the plane,” he reportedly said, referring to “Anyone But You.”

“I wanted to know who she was and why everyone was talking about her,” she told Maslin and the crowd, the Daily Mail reported.
Afterward, she told how she actually felt about the experience.
“I saw this unwatchable movie – sorry to the people who love this movie – [this] “It’s a romantic comedy where they hate each other,” she reportedly said.

According to the Daily Mail, Bohm then mentioned a producing class she teaches at the USC School of Cinematic Arts and recalled how she solicited opinions on famous actresses.
“I said to the students in my class, ‘Please describe this girl.’ She’s not pretty and she can’t act. Why is she so hot?” she reportedly asked.
It appears that her students were not at all enthusiastic about defending Sweeney.

“No one had an answer, but the question was: ‘If you could make your movie because she’s in it, would you make it?'” Baum continued, per the Daily. The Mail reported.
“I said, ‘That’s a really good question…It’s a very difficult question to answer, because we all want to make movies. Who’s going to walk away from the green light? Me. “Nobody knows. Your job is to make movies,” Baum reportedly recalled.
In an interview with Maslin, Baum gave no reason for not jumping on the Sweeney bandwagon, other than that he didn’t think he had the talent or good looks to make a career in Hollywood. (Related: Sydney Sweeney reveals the secret to her healthy physique)
Sweeney rose to fame with Euphoria and quickly became one of Hollywood’s most popular stars. She has appeared in three movies in the past six months: Immaculate, Madame Web, and Anyone But You.
