Shweta Tiwari is one of the most recognisable faces in television, playing the lead role in the hit TV show Kasautii Zindagi Kai. The actor recently spoke to Bollywood Hungama about the unrealistic standards of the show, where anything can happen, from falling off a kite to surviving a snake bite. What Shweta said
During the conversation, Shweta said, “Earlier content was better. It seems like anything goes now. There are scenes where people get locked in safes and it just doesn’t seem real. Even back then, there were storylines involving big money with characters talking millions of rupees. That too was not completely realistic but still, viewers could relate to the idea of wealthy individuals existing. We have characters who survive snake bites unharmed and people hanging from kites! We also saw a scene where a girl spins and falls into a curtain and somehow the curtain gets wrapped around her neck.”
“None of the shows I’ve been on have had scenes as unrealistic as this.”
Shweta added that she would never do such scenes and said, “I just ask, ‘What is going on here? I can’t do this’. None of the shows I have done have had such unrealistic scenes. The costumes, scripts, lines that you see me doing now are all things that I used to do 20 years ago! Even people’s hot press has changed.”
Shweta played the role of Prerna in Kasautii Zindagi Kayy. She participated in and won Bigg Boss 4, becoming the first female winner of the series. She has also appeared in reality shows like Nach Baliye, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi.
Shweta was recently seen in Indian Police Force starring Siddharth Malhotra, Vivek Oberoi and Shilpa Shetty. The police action drama marks the director’s digital directorial debut.
