Considering the popularity of the original Manhwa, it’s no wonder Solo Leveling became one of the hit anime shows of 2024. But even if the original version of Chugong didn’t become a phenomenon, the animation by A-1 Pictures certainly would have caught our attention.
Through solo leveling, Sung Jin Woo is given challenge after challenge, each time leading to an even more frenzied battle. The speed, flow, and vibrancy of the encounter between the giant arachnids Bryula and Cerberus is exhilarating, and the crew is just getting started.

Animation producer Jun Kaneko recently spoke about what fans can expect from Solo Leveling in the future. “I’d like to see the action scenes get even hotter,” he told Animate Times. “But also see where Son’s growth will lead him through encounters, farewells, and battles with the powerful enemies that await him.”

Well, that’s encouraging. Sure, there are a lot of manhwa moments that would have been great scenes in the anime. Without giving away any spoilers, Sung Jin Woo’s skill set far exceeds his current abilities and is even capable of organizing an army. It’s great and has some moments that are sure to give you goosebumps.

For now, I’m waiting for him to enter the Demon King’s Castle. After defeating Cerberus, Son decides to practice a little before proceeding to the dungeon. In the same interview, Kaneko stated that Cerberus was nearing its end for Son, so it would be better for him to come back younger and with enough stock.
