After the massive Insomniac leak that hit the company hard a few months ago, content revealing new projects, products, and concepts in development or canceled is still being removed. Just recently, a user stumbled upon a trailer for the canceled multiplayer game Spider-Man: The Great Web and quickly leaked it online.
It was supposed to be a five-player multiplayer game built on a live service foundation, but it was shot down by Sony, as revealed by the Insomniac leak. The leaked trailer for The Great Web – incredibly polished – gives us a glimpse of what the product could have been like.
A great web comes with great responsibility

A short trailer leaked online today gives us a full look at Spider-Man: The Great Web, and the video shows off an incredible multiplayer game that pits five players against the Sinister Six in New York City. elements are introduced. It would likely have been built around the multi-world model supposedly destroyed by Scarlet Witch, and would have had character customization options leading to diverse superheroes coming together to fight the big bad.
Here’s the dialogue in the trailer:
‘New York City. There’s nothing in the world I wouldn’t do for this big, beautiful apple. One minute you’re cutting slices of Vinny’s, the next you’re stopping a supervillain from escaping. Sometimes you can act as a lone wolf, but it’s much better to have some friends. I’ve seen the Sinister Six before… but they weren’t this methodical, they were so brutal. I don’t think it’s enough this time, guys. But if we are together, maybe it will happen. ”

A few months ago, a series of images leaked from The Great Web, but this is the first time we’ve seen a trailer surface. It is narrated by Yuri Lowenthal, who voices Peter Parker, and appears to be ready for market soon. This clearly appears to be a trailer for a product that was supposed to be released days after its reveal, but it’s a shame to Spider-Man and his fans around the world that the product never saw the light of day. It’s strange and heartbreaking.
