Authorities announced Monday that two Chino residents and a juvenile, ages 19 and 22, were arrested on felony charges of organized retail theft after they allegedly stole thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from Valley Fair Mall in San Jose. (San Jose Police Photo)
SAN JOSE — Three suspects were found outside Valleyfair Mall Monday night with more than $13,000 in stolen merchandise, primarily Apple products, on their person or in their vehicle. Detained.
The mall’s loss prevention personnel pointed out the three suspects to San Jose Police Department officers who were called to the mall Monday around 8:08 p.m. The individuals were found with more than $1,000 in merchandise, and a search of their vehicle revealed an additional $12,000 in merchandise, according to a San Jose Police Department news release Thursday.
Two suspects were booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail, and a third juvenile suspect was booked into a juvenile detention center on a felony charge of organized retail theft, officials said. The department’s Organized Retail Theft Unit is conducting a follow-up investigation and is actively working to identify other victims.
