Over the weekend, Courtney Love disparaged Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Lana Del Rey, Madonna and more before shooting several female musicians.
“Taylor is not important,” the singer said in an interview. standard. “She may be a safe space for girls, and she’s probably the Madonna of the moment, but as an artist she’s not interesting.”
Love also didn’t spare Madonna, despite calling her out to celebrate Swift’s success. “I don’t like her and she doesn’t like me,” Love said.

“I really like it as a concept,” Love said. “I don’t like her music.”
Love went on to say that she hates Lana Del Rey. “I think she really should take a seven-year break,” she said, noting that she hasn’t enjoyed Lana’s music “since she covered a John Denver song.”
“I thought she was great until ‘Take Me Home Country Roads,'” Love continued. She said, “When I was recording her new album, I had to stop listening to her songs because she was having such an impact on me.”
Love attributed much of her criticism to the fact that she sees female musicians as being boiled down to style.
“It’s great that there are so many successful women in the music industry, but a lot of them are becoming clichés,” she says. “There’s so much music now that every successful woman is cloned. It’s all the same. If you play something on Spotify, you get a lot of the exact same thing.”
