Matthew Sanders, an Amazon delivery driver from Temecula, is one of five national winners of Amazon’s second annual PEAK campaign, “Alexa, Thank You Drivers.”
Sanders, 26, is a driver for Leading Edge Logistics LLC, which operates out of an Amazon delivery station in Temecula. As one of the winners of the campaign, he received a $25,000 bonus, with an additional $25,000 donated to the charity of his choice, according to a news release.
The campaign, which ran during the holiday season, earned drivers an extra $5 for every thank you they received from a customer via an Alexa-enabled device.
Sanders received more than 600 thank you notes from customers during his campaign, ranking him among the top five most appreciated Amazon drivers in the nation, according to a news release.
This was Sanders’ first holiday season delivering packages to Amazon.
He chose to donate $25,000 of his charity award to the World Wildlife Fund, which works to protect wildlife and reduce human impact on the environment.
“I care deeply about animal welfare and biodiversity conservation,” Sanders said in a news release. “By supporting WWF, I contribute to their important work in protecting habitats and combating climate change.”
