Cody Rhodes’ thwarting of The Rock and Roman Reigns’ plot to headline WrestleMania 40 is one of the most talked-about storylines of all time. After a head-scratching moment on SmackDown, a PPV-quality press conference was held to officially announce the situation.
Cody was set to face Reigns for the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship at WrestleMania 40, but the biggest news was Bloodline Rock’s official heel turn.
The Rock officially joined The Bloodline on SmackDown last week.
WWE has promised The Rock to appear on the next three SmackDown episodes. But Bloodline Rock will be more than just a Hollywood slasher. Expect The Rock to come from his nickname “Chief Executive.”

The Rock showed off his entire family tree during the WrestleMania kickoff press conference. He claimed they were the only true royalty in the wrestling world. He added that The Rock’s match against his cousin Roman Reigns was the biggest box office match in WrestleMania history.
Cody Rhodes ruined his cousin’s plans by cashing in the championship shot he earned by winning the Royal Rumble.
Astute observers would have noticed something very interesting in The Rock’s branch of the Anoa’ai family tree. In Dwayne Johnson’s tree branch, he was called Senior Chief/ Cucumber.This name was given to Dwayne Johnson when he was recognized as the senior chief of Samoa.
Many took to X, officially Twitter, to announce the return of Hollywood rock. Hollywood Rock was a heel character in 2003. He cut promos from the movie’s trailers and belittled WWE fans who felt they didn’t need them anymore.
The Dwayne Johnson character we’ve seen in recent weeks has completely different motivations. That was Bloodline Rock.

The Rock spoke passionately about his family, declaring it the driving force behind his desire to headline WrestleMania 40 alongside his cousin Roman Reigns.
with is the keyword here. There has never been any conflict between Reigns and The Rock. The two will pair up with an agreement to headline the show.
It looks like The Rock isn’t going to go by Roman Reigns’ nickname, Head of the Table, either. The two are completely in cahoots.The Rock and Reigns are currently “Know our role” as Senior Chief/People’s Champion and Tribal Chief/Table Head respectively.
This is the key difference between Hollywood Rock and Bloodline Rock. The latter is driven by his family’s heritage and recognition as the greatest wrestling family of all time.
The Rock’s personality commands respect. But he no longer wants respect for his film career, he wants it for his family’s legacy.

Mr. Locke presented a complete pedigree family tree and noted how many branches there are compared to the Rose family. We can expect all of Locke’s actions to be based on this belief. To be fair, The Bloodline Family Tree has far more branches than The Rhodes.
At some point, The Rock is expected to display the Pedigree family tree again, followed by the Rhodes family tree. It will be very interesting.

An interesting move was The Rock stealing the spotlight from Reigns. Reigns had stood tall with The Usos for four years as head of the table, but now he was playing second fiddle. But we’ll have to wait until after WrestleMania for this dynamic to play out.
