Coincidentally, I found myself watching a couple of movies about pre-teen girls who start a punk band. That got me thinking more generally about how many movies feature kids in rock groups.
However, most of the ones I’ve seen tend to be very good, or at least very enjoyable, and that’s what counts.most people know school of rock, I’ve watched it at least a dozen times and it never gets old. It couldn’t be more perfect to capture Jack Black’s infectious enthusiasm, and the kids are amazing musicians.
Another less obscure, but less well-known sing street, from 2016, about a boy in Ireland in the 1980s who starts a band to impress older girls. This song has a lot of fun elements of post-punk and new wave, and it’s certainly very nice.
The two films I happened to see last week both live in a world that’s a little more realistic than happens. school of rock and sing street, kids are never magically really good and we spend a lot of time with them as just teenage girls. One is her 2013 Swedish film. we are the best!So a couple of kids at the end of the punk era decide to start a band without knowing how to play anything. Although it’s not action-packed with lots of hanging out scenes, the girls represent the genre’s stubborn rebellion.
The other is a Japanese movie called. Linda Linda Linda, and if you’ve ever heard of the real-life teenage girl punk band Linda Lindas, this is where they got their name. I was really surprised at how relaxed the pace and tone of this piece was, but the approach really made sense in the end and is one of the most welcoming earworms I’ve had in a long time. He gave me one.
