These 20 celebrities have a birthday every four years – can you guess who they are?
Approximately 5 million people around the world celebrate their birthday on Leap Day, or 0.06% of the world’s 8 billion people.
The concept of leap years dates back more than 2,000 years and was created to synchronize the Gregorian calendar with the solar calendar, taking into account the Earth’s 365.2422-day orbit around the sun.
In the Gregorian calendar, the world’s most widely used civil calendar, each leap year contains 366 days instead of the usual 365 days.
This extra day, known as a leap day, compensates for the fact that the astronomical year is slightly shorter than 365 days and 6 hours. The last leap day was in 2020, and the next leap day is set for 2028.
Here’s a list of celebrities in sports and music who are leap year babies.
