Tecno, a well-known name in the smartphone industry, is also venturing into the field of computing with the launch of its latest innovation, the Mega Mini Gaming G1. Announced at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024, this tiny PC claims the title of the world’s smallest gaming PC with water cooling. That claim awaits thorough verification, but on paper the device looks promising.
Powered by Intel Core i9-13900H CPU, Mega Mini Gaming G1 also features the latest Intel Core Ultra processor. The standout feature combined with his Nvidia RTX 4060 GPU, which is probably the laptop version, is a unique custom water cooling solution. Techno claims that it can effectively maintain optimal temperatures and ensure consistent performance.
You also get vibrant RGB lighting, and the chassis features a small recessed screen that allows users to monitor hardware metrics like CPU, GPU, and RAM usage along with temperature readings.
Tecno hasn’t revealed official dimensions, but MiniMachines says the PC is 9.8 inches tall and 5.2 inches wide. This system is equipped with a 1TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD and 32GB DDR5 RAM, and uses a standard SO-DIMM slot for future upgrades. Thunderbolt 4 and Wi-Fi 6E are also supported. In terms of I/O, it has dual Ethernet, two USB Type-C ports, six USB Type-A ports, and a headphone and microphone combo jack.
The Mini Gaming PC comes with an OCuLink port that allows you to connect to an external graphics dock, allowing you to pair your Mini PC with a powerful desktop-grade GPU. OCuLink may not be the best solution, but it is relatively better compared to Thunderbolt as it can provide up to 64Gb/s of bandwidth, which is 60% more than Thunderbolt 4.
The Mega Mini Gaming G1 is larger than some of the best mini PCs on the market, but it’s clearly the smallest PC we’ve ever seen with a liquid cooling solution. Unfortunately, all details regarding the price and availability of the Mega Mini Gaming G1 are being kept under wraps, but we’re hoping to get our hands on it once it’s officially available for purchase.
