In the new age of binge-watching, TV fans are inundated with the latest great shows and mainstream TV classics, thanks to online streaming sites like Disney+, Netflix, NOW TV, and Amazon Prime.
There are lots of popular TV shows set to air over the next few months and we couldn’t be more excited. Read on to find out which shows are returning and, most importantly, their start dates.

Love is Blind: UK
Following six impressive US series of reality TV show Love is Blind, Netflix executives confirmed last year that a UK version hosted by married couple Emma and Matt Willis was in the works.
Bosses revealed that the show will begin on August 7, 2024.
The Umbrella Academy
Showrunner Stephen Blackman announced that The Umbrella Academy will have its fourth and final series, saying, “Season 4 has some incredible storylines that will keep fans glued to the screen until the final minutes.”
The show is confirmed to begin on August 8, 2024!
Emily in Paris
Yes, we’re being gifted a new season of Emily in Paris! There are three seasons currently available on Netflix, and fans can expect a fourth season in 2024. Part 1 will be available on August 15th, and part 2 on September 12th.
Heart Stopper
After production starting in 2023, Netflix executives confirmed in March 2024 that the third series of Heartstopper would arrive on October 3rd this year.
Squid Game
Another Netflix smash hit, The Squid Game, had us all hooked when it was released in 2021. Breaking records and topping the streaming charts, the show was incredibly popular and after that ending, we just wanted to see more.
Show creator Hwang Dong-hyuk has confirmed that season 2 is officially in the works, and has even hinted at “discussions” for season 3. In January 2024, Netflix executives confirmed that series 2 would be released in 2024.
Stranger Things
Netflix executives have confirmed that production has officially begun on the fifth and final series of Stranger Things in January 2023. Despite this, no word yet on a release date.
Night Agent
After series one became Netflix’s most-watched show of 2023, executives quickly commissioned “Night Agent” for a second series, which is expected to premiere in 2024. An official start date has yet to be set, but executives confirmed in February that production had begun.
Celebrity Round the World Race
Following the huge success of the first series in September 2023, BBC executives have decided to reprise a second series of Celebrity Race Across the World. Filming is expected to take place in early 2024, although not many details have been released yet.
Gavin & Stacey
Five years after Gavin’s cliffhanger ending & During Stacey’s Christmas special, Ruth Jones and James Corden confirmed that they had written another Christmas special for 2024. Sharing the news in May, the pair confirmed that the new episode would air on Christmas Day.
Outnumbered
BBC bosses announced in May that the award-winning comedy Outnumbered will return with a new Christmas special in 2024. Original cast members Hugh Dennis, Claire Skinner, Tiger “Drew” Honey, Daniel Roche and Ramona Marquez will all reprise their roles. The special is due to air on Christmas Day.
hijack
Apple TV executives have confirmed that Idris Elba will return for a second series of Hijack after the first series airs in June 2023. No plot or start date has yet been announced, but reports are circulating that production is set to begin soon.
Unforgettable
ITV/STV executives were quick to reveal that a sixth series of the drama series Unforgotten would be produced, following the tense conclusion of the fifth series in April 2023. Filming began in March 2024, meaning new episodes could be expected to premiere later this year.
Black Mirror
In March 2024, Netflix executives revealed that a seventh series of Black Mirror would premiere in 2025, with one episode set to be a sequel to the fourth series episode “USS Callister”. An official date has yet to be announced.
Gladiator
After the huge success of the first series, BBC bosses quickly announced that a second series of Gladiator had been commissioned, with filming set to take place in the summer of 2024, although an official start date has not been announced.
