Pullman, Washington – The Washington State women’s tennis team (16-9, 5-5 Pac-12) posted a 4-0 win over Washington State University on Friday afternoon in the Boeing Apple Cup Series in Pullman, Wash. Finished the season.
Erika Matsuda and Darya Detkovskaya won 6-4 at No. 2 doubles, followed by Astrid Olsen and Alexia Jacobs with a 7-5 win at No. 1 doubles to give the Huskies a 1-0 lead.
Three straight wins in singles were enough to seal the sweep at 4-0, ranking No. 94 Olsen (6-1, 6-4) and No. 103 Jacobs (6-4, 6-2). won in straight sets.
Detkovskaya hit the deciding hit for the Cougars in the second set, 6-0, giving the Huskies a victory in the final regular-season game of the Boeing Apple Cup Series.
Washington will travel to Ojai, California for the Pac-12 Championship and will learn its postseason fate early next week.
