Caitlin Clark is the king.
The Iowa star broke Pete Maravich’s 54-year-old NCAA scoring record Sunday with a free throw in the second quarter to give the Hawkeyes a 48-39 lead over Ohio State.

“Pistol Pete” Maravich scored 3,667 points in a career at LSU that ended in 1970 before joining the Utah Jazz from the Atlanta Hawks and New Orleans for the Hall of Fame.
Last month, Clark broke the NCAA women’s scoring record with a logo-emblazoned 3-pointer against Michigan. Kelsey Plumb held the record with 3,527 points during his time at Washington. Clark also broke the record of 3,649 points set by Lynette Woodard, who played at the University of Kansas before women’s college basketball was sanctioned by the NCAA.
Clark’s idol, former Union University star and four-time WNBA champion Maya Moore, was also in attendance to watch her break Maravich’s record. Woodard was also in the building to show her support.
On Thursday, Clark declared for the WNBA Draft. She waived her fifth-year option and will most likely be drafted by the Indiana Fever with the No. 1 overall pick.
