All other Millennials are interested in Avatar: The Last Airbender. For many of us, this series was what we watched after we graduated from SpongeBob and his friends. When the anime-inspired manga debuted in 2005, we were introduced to: Avatar‘s stunning art direction, as well as its stunning depiction of loss, growth, and pure joy. But as much as I love his M. Night Shyamalan, his 2010 live-action film adaptation wasn’t all that great. I’m a little more optimistic about Netflix’s interpretation, which seems to keep a little more of the spirit of the original. You can look forward to it!

But this is definitely one of the biggest shows of the summer, and the rumors around Westeros are that dragons will actually be in play this season, so we’ll leave it out of this preview in good faith. Hey, doggies (sorry): Paramount claims it will eventually yellowstone They will return this fall after a hiatus due to beef and strikes. I don’t know if you can believe it or not. Kevin Costner’s gruff tone, Taylor Sheridan’s ego, and the tornado of the series’ future (mostly McConaughey?) feel like too much to sort out in a calendar year. Maybe I’m wrong! But that’s my bet. yellowstone For both Paramount and Sheridan, this production is too important to rush and mess up the production schedule.
Sympathizer (TBA)
I don’t know if I’ve seen any more HBO trailers than I have for the 2024 series. sympathizer It was delivered at the end of last year. Will Robert Downey Jr. play multiple roles? A title card that silently announces that the director is the legendary Park Chan-wook? The series is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning Viet Thanh Nguyen novel of the same name and tells the story of a spy who infiltrates the South Vietnamese military near the end of the Vietnam War.

The Bear Season 3 (TBA)
In late 2023, we learned: bear is set to ramp up production on Season 3 this winter, so it’s not out of the question to think we’ll see Carmy’s return sometime between mid-year and fall. Our guy will probably bring it out of the fridge, but what happens after that? Definitely more growing pains for the intrepid cook, and definitely a few more cameos. (Jeremy Allen White iron claw Lifting buddy Zac Efron?) Since there’s no trailer, do me a favor and rewatch Richie’s “Love Story” moment from Season 2. (It’s worth mentioning again and again in this preview, right?)
Penguin (TBD)
Unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on your taste, there are very few superhero-related projects you can root for. That being said, one of the better ones this genre has going for him is Matt Reeves’ work. batman poem. (No name. Battinson Bath?) Following in 2022 batman, Colin Farrell’s Penguin is getting his own spin-off series. I’m cautiously excited for this movie, considering the Irish actor and his incredible amount of prosthetics are the two best things about this movie.
