Multi-sensor and fisheye security cameras with advanced AI-based analytics improve visitor safety, protect priceless works of art, and ensure a seamless and safe experience during high-profile events .
Located in the city-state of Monaco, the Grimaldi Forum serves as a prominent venue for conferences, conventions, cultural events, and world-class art exhibitions. Committed to visitor safety and the preservation of priceless art, this state-of-the-art facility hosts more than 100 diverse events and welcomes more than 250,000 visitors annually. In the summer of 2023, the Grimaldi Forum will hold the exhibition “Monet full of light”, in which in two months he will welcome 120,000 visitors, and will include Claude and his Monet masterpieces, including rare and unpublished works. Nearly 100 items were exhibited.
When faced with the challenge of hardening the security infrastructure while supporting organizational processes, Philippe Martin, Director of Safety, Fire Protection and Risk Prevention at Grimaldi Forum Monaco, turned to Monaco-based systems integrator MES I2S Security. , installed over 100 i-PRO cameras. , including fisheye and multi-sensors with advanced AI-based analytics.
“When the Forum reopened to the public after a period of closure due to COVID-19, we were looking for a solution that would help us manage the number and flow of visitors while ensuring the safety of our facility. We were also planning a long-awaited Monet exhibition and wanted to find the best possible technology to protect these unique masterpieces without interfering with the visitor experience or compromising the aesthetic value of the venue. I was thinking,” Martin said.
The successful implementation of the new security system not only ensures the safety of visitors during high-profile events such as the Monet exhibition, but also accommodates a wide range of upcoming events and supports future expansion plans. Grimaldi Forum Monaco’s security arrangements have therefore been strengthened.
Covers a wide area without blind spots: i-PRO’s multi-sensor camera combines outstanding image performance with wide-area surveillance and IR LED lighting, allowing the Grimaldi Forum’s security team to monitor activity across large rooms, while still providing highly focused attention to precise areas of interest. You can focus accurately. , any time of the day or night. Grimaldi Forum was able to significantly reduce the number of cameras required, saving money.
“Without the wide coverage provided by i-PRO’s multisensor cameras, we would have needed to add an additional 77 cameras,” says Martin. Not only does it cover a wider area with a wider tilt range than other multi-sensor cameras on the market, but it’s small and discreet, allowing it to blend into your beautiful facility design. ”
Protecting valuable works of art: Grimaldi Forum has implemented i-PRO’s Scene Change Detection, an AI-based analytics application that alerts security teams to anomalies within the camera’s field of view. This technology protects works of art by identifying abnormal behavior and unauthorized access to valuable works.
The app works simultaneously with other apps, such as AI video motion detection (VMD) of objects, allowing security teams to perform multiple detections with a single camera. i-PRO’s AI VMD can send alerts to security personnel if an intruder enters a designated area or is loitering in an area where they are not supposed to be. You can also trigger alarms if certain thresholds are exceeded. AI-based object detection minimizes false alarms due to changing light or passing shadows.
Real-time proactive monitoring: The i-PRO Active Guard plugin allows Grimaldi Forum’s security team to quickly perform real-time searches during an incident and detailed forensic analysis after an event. Operators can identify specific attributes in the watch list (for example, “a man wearing a red shirt and blue pants”), and the plugin sends a real-time alarm to the operator each time a match is identified. This enhances real-time situational awareness and enables proactive security. The same process can be set up for high-speed data mining of events during forensic investigations.
Manage occupancy and visitor flow i-PRO fisheye cameras were strategically placed at the entrance and main axis to monitor large areas. The advanced AI analysis of these cameras allows Grimaldi Forum to detect congestion, manage visitor traffic flow and count the number of people in a particular area. Heat maps provide statistical insight into traffic flows.
