If you’ve ever spent more than two minutes on the internet, you know that it can be a vast wasteland of hateful people and comment section keyboard warriors. Add celebrity status? It’s ten times worse and the photos and gossip never end. In the case of superstar Jennifer Lopez, she has been dealing with this issue in the spotlight for almost 30 years. But she also has three stepchildren, two teenagers and a tween, with her husband Ben Affleck. With so much celebrity status under one roof, how do they protect their children from all the gossip and negativity written about their parents in the comments and gossip magazines?
That was the question Zane Lowe asked Lopez on Apple Music Radio, which premiered its new series “This Is Me Now…Radio.” And unfortunately, the short answer is that we can’t really protect them.
Lopez explained: “They can’t do that because they’re techies. Like other kids, they’re always on their phones. They search for everything. As soon as you say any new word to them, , they see any new name, any new thing.”
“Any new information, they want to know what it is, and they know it can be done. So they’ve been informed all along, and they’re completely steeped in meme culture, and they want to know what it is. I think it’s hysteria,” Lopez continued.
I wonder if they thought Dunkings’ Super Bowl ad was as funny as everyone else thought it was, and Ben Affleck is smoking a cigarette and drinking Dunkin’ coffee while “having a moment.” What do you think of this awesome Ben Affleck meme?
Thankfully, now that the kids are a little older, they can have honest conversations about what they do and don’t see being said about Lopez and Affleck.
Lopez continued in the interview. That we are famous. ”
She says most conversations start with, “You know that’s stupid…” and the kids respond, “No, I know.” we know. ” Ms. Lopez dotes on her children, and she said they are all incredibly smart, full-hearted, and brilliant in their own ways.
Her children have always grown up in the public eye, and she said in an interview that she feels like they’ve always handled it really well. “So it can be very, very difficult for them to be who they are in the public eye. And I’m sure that sometimes it’s more than they share with us.” But they handle it very beautifully,” Lopez said.
